1990's Champion Reverse Weave Crewnecks
1990's Champion Reverse Weave Crewnecks
Created in 1934, apply for patenting in 1938 & granted in 1952, the reverse weave sweatshirt was invented by champion to overcome the shrinkage that came with frequent washing of sports apparel.
It is the world’s first engineered sweatshirt, stitched with a more time consuming yet superior transverse method which was cut on the cross-grain instead to avoid shrinkage in the opposite direction.
They are also characterized by two side panels & the cuffs, neck and bottom of the sweatshirts have the same characteristic as the inserts in order to avoid the dispersion of heat during and after training, keeping the freedom of movement.
Alongside 501s & FOTL pocket tees they form a trio of US made shrunken classics.
